GOSAT-GW/AMSR3 L1B Brightness Temperature
GOSAT-GW/AMSR3 L1B Brightness Temperature dataset is obtained from the AMSR3 sensor onboard GOSAT-GW and produced by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).GOSAT-GW was launched by the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 50 (H-IIA 50) at 01:33 a.m. on Jun 29th, 2025 (Japan Standard Time, JST). GOSAT-GW equipped with AMSR3 takes measurements at multiple microwave frequencies and multiple polarizations of weak electromagnetic waves in the microwave band radiated from the Earthâs surface and the atmosphere. AMSR3 has swath of 1535 km and 11 microwave bands. The observation data will enable the creation of long-term trustworthy data sets of global physical amount.Level 1 products are the antenna temperature count value (L1A) or the Brightness Temperature (L1B, L1R, L1C and L1H).This product includes brightness tempearture. Level 1B product stores the brightness temperature converted from the Level 1A antenna temperature using the conversion coefficients. It is proportional to the power of observed electromagnetic wave. They are expressed by the physical temperature of blackbody, which can emit the electromagnetic wave with the same power. The provided format is NetCDF4. The current version of the product is Version 01A. The physical quantity unit is Kelvin. The generation unit is scene (defined as a half orbit). The sampling resolution is 5-50 km.
