EOS-06_OCM-GAC_AOD_8day_4km

This is a spatially and temporally binned and product from EOS-6 OCM-3 Sensor operated in Global Area Coverage (GAC) mode to provide global Aerosol Optical Depth (AOD) at 870 nm at a spatial resolution of 4km with 8-day compositing period. This product quantifies the concentration of atmospheric aerosols such as dust, smoke, and pollution that scatter and absorb sunlight in a vertical column of the atmosphere. AOD is crucial for atmospheric correction of other geophysical data products and for studying the climatic impacts of aerosols.
