GOSAT-GW/AMSR3 L3 Sea Surface Temperature (PS, 25 km, 1-Day) dataset is obtained from the AMSR3 sensor onboard GOSAT-GW and produced by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA).GOSAT-GW was launched by the H-IIA Launch Vehicle No. 50 (H-IIA 50) at 01:33 a.m. on Jun 29th, 2025 (Japan Standard Time, JST). GOSAT-GW equipped with AMSR3 takes measurements at multiple microwave frequencies and multiple polarizations of weak electromagnetic waves in the microwave band radiated from the Earthâs surface and the atmosphere. AMSR3 has swath of 1535 km and 11 microwave bands. The observation data will enable the creation of long-term trustworthy data sets of global physical amount.Level 3 products are gridded data. They store the brightness tempreture or physical parameters data converted using grid processing and temporally statical processing.This product includes Sea Surface Temperature (SST) overwritten by latest data. SST product represents temperature of water at ocean surface. Its horizontal resolution is about 20-30 km and coarser than that of optical instruments. Microwave radiometer, however, can observe ocean surface through clouds, and monitor continuous change of sea surface temperature over the ocean where few clear region can be found in specific areas or seasons.The provided format is NetCDF4.
