This 3SH product refers to Level-3 (L3) binned sigma naught products generated from the Ku-band Pencil Beam Scatterometer (SCAT-3) on EOS-06 (Oceansat-3) satellite. These products offer globally gridded and 2-Day time-averaged normalized radar backscatter coefficient in Horizontal polarisation at 25 km x 25 km and 12.5 km x 12.5 km global grid spacing. Since horizontal polarization is highly sensitive to surface roughness associated with strong winds, it is particularly useful for assessing the intensity of hurricanes and typhoons.
